Hello and welcome to my site! My name is Evan Petrie. My interest in photography got its start in the summer of 2001 when I was given my first camera, an Olympus OM-1, which previously belonged to my grandfather. My camera and I are now all but inseparable!

Since taking up photography I have had the opportunity to work for my hometown newspaper, The Woodstock Independent, my college newspaper, The Scarlet & Black, and my college annual, The Grinnell Cyclone, of which I have been the editor-in-chief for the last two years.

All of these endeavors help me to learn new skills and hone my artistic vision, which results in better photographs when I am pursuing my real passion--photographing the oft-overlooked, but nonetheless captivating beauty of everyday people and places.

I am a recent graduate of Grinnell College where I studied philosophy and economics.

I now live in Chicago and work for Apple. In addition, I am the sole-proprietor of the web design firm Wurpl.
